Yajeeji felt cheated and decided to face this challenge because he wanted to expose the corrupt practices in democratic setup. He filed an election petition before the Election Tribunal, Patna against RP Jain and charged him to have used corrupt practice of bribery.

The case was conducted by a senior advocate Mr. K P Verma. After examining the prima-facie evidence, Mr. Verma moved election tribunal to open the ballot papers polled in favour of Mr. Jain, in order to settle the dispute. This petition was hotly contested. When the Tribunal allowed the petition to open the ballots of Mr. Jain, he moved the High Court against this order on the ground of security of the votes. The High Court, after hearing both the parties rejected the petition of Mr. Jain.

When the ballot papers polled in favour of Mr. Jain were opened and it found that, many members violated the three-line whip and the party mandate for money. Yajeeji also exposed and proved the case of bribery and the MLA's who accepted the offer of money from Mr. Jain before court, and MLAs, were disqualified for six years. Yajeeji won his case and seat, meanwhile, he left that seat for other.

It was a historical case in the life of Yajeeji, who fought the case for three years like real fighter of justice, and proved before the country that he would not even allow the secrecy of votes to come in way of purity of democratic election.
